Even the most powerful winches sometimes need a helping hand. Double the pulling capacity of your winch with the ARB Snatch Block 9000. The unit scissors open to enable the insertion of an already-rigged winch line. The Snatch Block 9000 features a 20,000 lb. working load limit, and is compatible with both steel and synthetic winch lines up to 1/2" in diameter. Snap-ring design lets you disassemble the Snatch Block 9000 for cleaning if it ever gets fouled from using in very dirty conditions.
The way a pulley block works is simple. Winching a vehicle 50' of distance normally requires the winch pull in 50' of winch line. A pulley block halves the gearing of the winch because the winch must pull in 100' of winch line to move the same vehicle the same 50' distance. Once you grow accustomed to rigging a pulley block and get comfortable with it, you will likely use a pulley block almost all the time because the lesser strain on your winch and its greater pulling power are very noticeable.
When attaching your Snatch Block 9000 to your Tree Trunk Protector Strap, do so with the ARB 3/4" Bow Shackle rather than the ARB Soft Connect Shackle. While the soft shackles are strong enough for this task, they are liable to cut or abrade against the "sharp" edges of the Snatch Block and must then be discarded.
