The Edge Pro Apex 4 Knife Sharpening System gives your cutlery a precision edge that cannot be achieved using other sharpening methods. Edge Pro edges are razor-sharp, even, exact and free of burrs, consistently, quickly, and easily every time. The Edge Pro's patented knife guide system does not clamp the blade like inferior sharpening systems, so the Edge Pro will easily sharpen any blade length or blade shape at precisely the same angle every time. Bevel angles are adjustable from a steep 35° to a razor-thin 10°. The effort required to resharpen an Edge Pro'd knife is considerably less than with any other sharpening system, and the amount of material removed to achieve a razor-sharp edge is dramatically reduced compared to conventional sharpening systems. The Edge Pro's water stones free you from messy oil stones, and no heat is generated during sharpening so your thin knife blade will not lose its factory temper. If you just learning to use the Edge Pro or if you have arthritic hands, Edge Pro has available the Edge Pro Apex Retractable Magnet, which fits under the Apex's blade table and effectively magnetizes it to hold knife blades stationary during sharpening. The Retractable Magnet can also be an aid when sharpening swords or very long knives.

The Edge Pro Apex attaches to a flat, smooth surface with two suction cups. If your counter or work area will not support adhesion of suction cups, or if you want to sharpen your knives in the garage and there is no suitable surface there, look at the Edge Pro Apex Bench Mount, which will permit you to use your Apex on nearly any flat surface.

If you sharpen a lot of small blades in the 2" to 3" range, you might want to fit the Edge Pro Small Knife Attachment, which is 2" wide and effectively shrinks the Edge Pro's platform down to the size of these small blades and makes sharpening them easier.

If you sharpen a lot of EDC-sized blades in the 3" to 5" range and many of them have irregular shapes with thumb holes, look at the Edge Pro Apex Slide Guide. The Slide Guide holds EDC blades at two points rather than one, so the knives do not want to tilt or teeter during sharpening. When combined with the Edge Pro Apex Retractable Magnet, the Slide Guide and Retractable Magnet hold EDC folders so securely that they can be held with a single fingertip during sharpening.

Also available is the Edge Pro Apex Scissor Chisel Attachment for sharpening scissors, hair-styling shears, planes, pruners, chisels, and gouges. If you love the razor-sharp cutting ability of your Edge Pro'd knives, you will want the same feel on your scissors and other tools.

Keep all of your cutlery nice and sharp. Not only will your blades be more effective when they are sharp, they will actually be safer to use because they will cut with less pressure than a dull blade and behave much more predictably. There is no single or "best" way to sharpen cutlery, because we all have our different preferences and skill levels. Different sharpening methods will also suit different blade shapes and sizes, and you probably would not use the same sharpening tool on a pocketknife and sword.
