Opinel Maintenance Oil is a plant-based, food-safe oil that is ideal for lubricating, protecting, beautifying, and maintaining the full range of Opinel knives (whether used for food or gardening) and cutting boards by using only a single product. Maintenance Oil will lubricate the hinge and Virobloc mechanisms of folding blades and keep them working smoothly, prevent corrosion to carbon steel surfaces, and protect and beautify wooden handles and cutting boards.
Using Maintenance Oil is very simple. After cleaning and drying your blade, simply apply a few drops of Maintenance Oil to a clean cloth and rub on the blade. Allow the blade of a folding knife to dry completely before closing it. To condition wood handles evenly, use a clean cloth with a few drops of Maintenance Oil applied and rub into the wood. A little goes a long way, and this 150ml can will service a great many knives.
