The blade is made of 12C27 Sandvik Stainless Steel and is 6cm long. The blade is mirror polished with ground accents at the peeling blades and coring tip. The blade will peel in both directions, so it is suitable for use by both lefties and righties, as well as on both the push and pull strokes. The spearpoint tip is sharpened slightly for removing "eyes" in potatoes and other fruits.
The blade locks in both the open and closed positions via the iconic Virobloc locking system designed by Marcel Opinel in 1955.
The handle is Opinel's traditional varnished beechwood.
Dimensions are 9cm folded and 16cm deployed.
