The blade is made of 12C27 Sandvik Stainless Steel and is 65mm long. The blade is not sharpened to cut, but the grind tapers toward the point to let the blade slip between shells. The grind is an almost imperceptibly convex grind to maximize the blade's resistance against twisting and also to reflect light in a very beautiful way. The engineering of this knife is similar to that of the other Opinel folders and thus the blade can be locked in both the open and closed positions by turning the iconic Virobloc.
The wood handle is varnished Padouk. Also known as "New Guinea Rosewood", Padouk has a rich red color and is often used to make musical instruments.
Dimensions are 12cm folded and 18cm deployed.
