The Snow Peak Grill Burner Seppo-en is a gas-powered grill pan that works standalone or as part of the Snow Peak Iron Grill Table System. The idea behind the Grill Burner is to combine the the Snow Peak Cast Iron Half Griddle and Snow Peak Baja Burner to create camp food that is very healthful, but still rustic in nature and delicious.

The heart of the Grill Burner system is the cast iron grill pan. The grill pan is thick and heavy at 6 lbs. (more than half of the Grill Burner's 11 lbs. total weight) for heat retention and even cooking of your meats and vegetables. The corrugated surface of the grill pan serves two functions: (1) put beautiful sear marks on your food for the outdoorsy and rustic feel that good camp food has; and (2) facilitate drainage of fats. Unlike a standard grill pan, this grill pan is shaped like an inverted rooftop to let cooking fats and juices drain away into the drip pan situated below the fire, so fats and fat-calories in your camp meals are minimized. And because the fats drip into the drip pan rather than onto the fire, there are no flare-ups to burn your food and create possible carcinogens.

The majority of the Grill Burner is constructed of stainless steel for corrosion resistance and easy cleaning. However, the cast iron grill pan is rightly made of carbon steel to accept a proper seasoning, and the drip pan is sheetmetal that has been coated with baked-on, non-stick paint to let fats pour away easily. Just as with all cast iron, season your grill pan to make it nonstick and reseason it if you ever clean the grill pan with soap. The Grill Burner easily breaks down into its elements for cleaning. A black nylon carry bag with Fastex buckle keeps everything together during storage and transport.

The Grill Burner represents one way to cook, and there is no single, "best" way to cook camp meals. If outdoor cooking to you must include grilling and the smoky smell and taste that only a charcoal fire can deliver, look at the Snow Peak IGT BBQ BoxDouble IGT BBQ Box, and Pack & Carry Fireplace Kit or Takibi Solo. If you like to cook camp breakfasts on a skillet or hearty stews in a pot, look at the Snow Peak Baja Burner or Standard Model Two Burner. Or, combine either of those burners with the Snow Peak Cast Iron Half Griddle to create what is essentially the Grill Burner. If you like to cook camp meals in a dutch oven, look at the Snow Peak Japanese Cast Iron Oven 26cm. If you like to cook on a tabletop while seated, look at the Snow Peak Home & Camp Burner and Snow Peak Teppanyaki Burner. If you don't want to cook at all and just something hot, there is the Kovea Alpine Pot Wide Up for quicky boiling up some water for coffee or dehydrated meals. There is no single or "best" way.
