The Snow Peak Heavy Duty Multi-Purpose Cook Set I (also called the Field Cooker Pro. 1 Set) is back after five years of being discontinued.
The Heavy Duty Multi-Purpose Cook Set I set includes three stainless pots, three stainless lids, a mesh strainer/colander, carbon-steel skillet, wooden handle (that fits the skillet or saucepan), fabric pot holder, and mesh transport bag. This kit is worlds ahead of the Al Dente Cook Set because it includes the skillet, which is huge because it means you can actually cook more than boiled foods in camp. The small pot has a 3.2-quart capacity, the medium a 4.5-quart capacity, and the large a 7-quart capacity. All of the pieces nest together into a cylinder about 10" wide and 8" tall. Total weight of the pieces is 7.3 lbs.
If you feel this cookset is too large for you, buy it anyway, don't carry the large pot and lid, and stack the collander, medium pot, and all the smaller bits in the medium pot on top of the skillet. Having a skillet is important, and it is also important that the skillet be as large a diameter as possible so that you can cook things like eggs or bacon without crowding and steaming, or have the flat surface large enough to sear steaks.
