The vast majority of magnetic pick-up tool jobs will consist of retrieving small springs, nuts, washers, and screws that have fallen into some tight crevice or just beyond your reach. For these jobs, the Ullman Devices Telescoping Pocket Magnetic Pick-Up Tool is more than up to the task. The Telescoping Pocket Magnetic Pick-Up Tool telescopes down to 6" for easy carry in clipped to a pocket and extends to to 25" for reaching into crevices. The Pocket Magnetic Pick-Up Tool's Neodymium magnet is only 1/4" wide, but will lift 2 lbs. Picking up small pieces is child's play for this tool. The Pocket Magnetic Pick-Up Tool is chrome-plated for easy wipe-down after use and corrosion resistance.

This tool is more than powerful enough for collecting broken pieces of ring gear and CV joints, but may not be long enough or powerful enough to retrieve broken halfshaft stubs from your differential without disassembling the axle. For such tasks, there is the Ullman Devices MegaMag Extra Long Telescoping Magnetic Pick-Up Tool, which will telescope from 13" to 48" and lifts up to 16 lbs.
