Add easy connection and disconnection ability to your air hoses with this quickly detachable ARB Hose Coupling. The ARB Hose Coupling differs in shape from other air couplers and is shorter in length and wider in diameter. The short length makes this coupler lower in profile and less likely to get knocked and damaged. The wide diameter makes this coupler very easy to manipulate under air pressure, even with gloves or arthritic hands.
This Coupler is compatible with all Industrial Interchange (Type 15 or ISO 6150 B) plugs from all manufacturers. Standard 1/4" NPT male thread on the input end fits nearly all air fittings sold in the USA.
The ARB Hose Coupling is the "automatic" type of coupler where you do not have to pull back the collar to insert the air hose's plug. Simply insert the plug and the collar will push back and then spring forward to lock automatically. To detach the air hose, simply pull back on the collar and the hose will release. Most automatic couplers suck but this ARB is very easy to use because of the wide collar and flanged base.
The Hose Coupling and the ARB Hose Coupling Dust Cap both come standard on the new ARB Air Compressor Pump Up Kit (171302V2), but are also sold separately so that you can fit additional quick-detach air outputs to your vehicle's onboard air system. Or, you may want to use a different air hose for your onboard air but want this coupler because of its ease of use and very nice dust cover.
Approximately 90% of trail fixes will involve tires. And nearly all fourwheeling involves deflating and inflating tires. So having a good onboard air system on your 4x4 is mandatory.
