ARB 4-Liter Aluminum Air Tank (171507)

The ARB 4-Liter Aluminum Air Tank adds a whopping one gallon of air-storage capacity to your vehicle's onboard air system, which will speed up tire inflation and lessen cycling of your air compressor.  The latter advantage is especially true when running ARB Air Lockers, which require very little air volume.

The Aluminum Air Tank measures only 12" x 6" x 6" for easy installation in some wasted space inside your vehicle.  The two end caps are forged aluminum and are TIG-welded to the tubular body.  The aluminum construction means this tank weighs less than half of what an equivalent steel tank weighs.  Four threaded sockets on each end cap allow this tank to be mounted any which way (even pendant) and still have the four different 1/4" NPT ports situated at the bottom for easy draining.  This tank has no fluid retention because water in the tank will automatically flow downstream with the air moving through it.

The Aluminum Air Tank's working pressure limit is 150 psi, so the Air Tank will integrate perfectly with your ARB Air Compressors and most other onboard air sources as well.

There are currently four different ARB 12V Onboard Air Compressors:

• ARB Brushless Single Motor Onboard 12V Air Compressor (CKBLA12)
• ARB Brushless Twin Motor OnBoard 12V Air Compressor (CKBLTA12)
• ARB Single Motor Onboard 12V Air Compressor (CKMA12)
• ARB Twin Motor Onboard 12V Air Compressor (CKMTA12)

The Air Tank is compatible with all four air compressors, but comes into its own when combined with the twin-motor compressors like the CKBLTA12 and CKMTA12 and their very high air outputs and 100% duty cycles.  Combine the Aluminum Air Tank with either of those air compressors and you will have the ability to run air tools from your vehicle's onboard air system.

This air tank includes:

• 2x mounting brackets and fixing bolts
• 2x 1/4" NPT blanking plugs
• 2x JIC-4 fittings to plumb to your other onboard air items.

If you want to run both ARB Air Lockers and the ARB Air Compressor Pump Up Kit for inflating tires, the Aluminum Air Tank is fully compatible with the ARB Air Locker Manifold Kit. Simply install the Aluminum Air Tank somewhere downstream of your air compressor and upstream of your Air Locker Manifold Kit.

Approximately 90% of your trail fixes will involve tires.  And nearly all fourwheeling involves deflating and inflating tires.  So having an onboard air system on your 4x4 is mandatory.  Acquire the tools and skills to perform tire repairs and you will be well on the way to becoming a compleat offroader.
